Lindsey Davis Stover Statement on the 23 Million Citizens Expected to Lose Their Healthcare Thanks to Trumpcare

McLean, VA – Lindsey Davis Stover, candidate for Virginia’s 10th congressional district, today released the following statement after the Congressional Budget Office released their analysis of TrumpCare recently passed by the U.S. House of Representatives.

“Today the Congressional Budget Office confirmed our fears: 23 million Americans would lose their health care coverage under the bill passed by the House. That includes tens of thousands of people in the 10th district.

“Barbara Comstock is fooling no one -- she has voted many times to repeal the Affordable Care Act with no plan to replace it. What she is doing is not courage, it’s politics and that is what voters of this district are sick of. The people of this district deserve someone who will fight for them, not someone who is afraid to listen to them and hold a townhall.

“Before this draconian healthcare measure gets signed into law, it’s up to Republicans like Barbara Comstock to speak out against policies that would hurt Virginia families, discriminate against Americans with preexisting conditions resulting in dramatic increases in premiums, create a class of citizens who once again live in fear of the financial consequences of a health scare and unnecessarily discriminate against women.”

As the House of Representatives was voting for Trumpcare, Lindsey was joining citizens at the Capitol speaking out against the bill. Video is available here.
