Preparing New Hampshire for the Future

My Priorities

PORTSMOUTH.jpg

I am running for Congress because I want future generations to enjoy the same opportunities that America provided to my family and me.

America faces serious long-term challenges. Rapid technological change, growing global competition, increasing fiscal pressures, climate and infrastructure concerns, and the long-term sustainability of programs such as Social Security and Medicare will shape our future for decades to come.

Meeting these challenges will require leadership, planning, and resources. Unfortunately, our nation's fiscal condition is steadily weakening. Fiscal responsibility is not simply an accounting exercise. It is about preserving America's ability to respond to future challenges and invest in future opportunities.

My priorities are:

1. Fiscal Responsibility and Sustainable Government

America cannot continue indefinitely spending more than it takes in. We must make difficult decisions today so that future generations inherit a nation capable of meeting tomorrow's challenges.

2. Strengthening and Preserving Social Security and Medicare

My goal is not to weaken these programs. My goal is to strengthen and preserve them so they remain available for future generations while honoring commitments made to current retirees.

3. Preparing New Hampshire and America for the Future

Rapid technological change, global competition, and environmental challenges require long-term thinking. We must identify emerging challenges early and make prudent investments that strengthen our economy, protect our communities, and expand opportunity for future generations.
